I have been speaking to audiences around the world since 1998. Twenty-six years ago I left my corporate training job in Boston to live my dream. I drove my Honda Civic across the country and launched Grischow Training & Consulting in San Diego, California.

The Power Of Humbleness

One of the top five speaking moments in my career was getting a call from Pam Cocker. Her team invited me to do a series of speaking events in Crawford, Colorado in 1999. When Pam called she never mentioned her husband was Joe Cocker. It was a surreal moment to have dinner and play snooker with Joe at the sponsors house.


I have never met a superstar in any field that was so humble. One of the highlights and stories was talking to Joe about his current gigs. "Duane I still like to play a little in Europe. Last summer I did a great concert with a few of my friends."


You Tube was not invented until 2005. Years later I stumbled across this video of Joe performing at his little event. You will see the sign in the video from 1999. Joe just doing a gig with a few of his friends.
